battle in the deep

mighty ugezod's death commando have recently established a stronghold above an abandoned dwarven mine, with the intention of seeing if it still contains any treasures worth looting.
simultaneously, the dwarves have cleared through an area of collapsed underway to the remains of this same lost minem, and a group of tuneel fighters has been despatched to investigate it.
goblinoid sentries have reported sounds coming from beneath the mine and mighty ugezod has ordered his troops forward to investigate, just as the tunnel fighters emerge from the underway.

Battlefield
there are three levels: the entry from the underway is the lowest, connected by a flight of stairs (in the middle of the board) to the mine; above the mine and connected by a short passageway up is the orc lair.
an example layout is shown in the pictures below.







Deployment
all figures operate as independent characters.
the dwarves can set up anywhere on the underway level.
up to two goblins, hobgoblins, or combination thereof, can begin anywhere in the mine level. the rest of the death commandos can set up anywhere in the Orc lair level.

Special Rules
there are seven treasure tokens scattered around the boards; three in the mine and two each in the underway and orc lair. these should be place by the gm, or randomly.

there are four mine carts in the mine which provide hard cover / count as defended obstacles. they can be pushed by dwarves at their full movement, or by goblinoids at half movement, or three quarters movement for two working together.

moving up or down the staircase between the underway and the mine takes one full turn.
