Alternate Bretonnians

Browsing on LAF, I found this topic about a Fantasy Warriors game (an another good old school ruleset ;))

Some pictures show some knights from Front Rank miniatures...and I think they are rather good for making a 3rd ed Bretonnian army especially the Hundred Years war range...a really old school looking ;)

Foot knights

Hmmmm....those do look like they would fit the bill....I wonder how they match up size wise...?

I think some of the piece from the new claymore castings line would also be good as alt brets

http://www.claymorecastings.co.uk/

I really like the look of those and would love to get a few to mix up my perry brets...again...I'm curious about size.

Also look at the black tree designs 100 years war figures....some one recommended them to me on my blog as a good option.

Cheers,

I tried to find how FR minis fit with others brands but don't succeed

I read somewhere that theyare little taller than the grenadier foot knights which are 25mm
I think they are 28mm but not much

claymore minis are awesome, will take some as soon as possible (when my wallet is will be ok for this  )

cheers

Don't like the Claymore ones much, but the Front Rank are the mutt's nuts! Cheap and Perry-looking. Very nice find! I'm considering adding cheap historicals to my cheap fantasy thread on LAF...

Black Tree Designs' HYW stuff is a good fit size wise with the latter 3rd edition bretonnians. The sculpts aren't quite as sophisticated shall we say and there are a few duds in there but they sit well along side them.

If you're using early 3rd edition Brets like the ones Foundry have now then their HYW line is a good match in size. They're a bit small next to the later Citadel stuff though which is a shame as they're spot on design wise.

Some on the Round Table of Bretonnia used Front Rank knights as Brets and they looked great.
