Valuing old minis

Returning

I've recently returned to Warhammer and I have been sorting out the minis that I want to keep and those I'm looking to swap/trade. I've been looking at sites such as solegends and collecting citadel miniatures etc and I'm partially the way through cataloging them, although I may need some advice on a few of them! The are mostly citadel solid base models from the 80s with a few Ral Partha thrown in.

What I'm struggling with is working out how much they are worth, I've tried looking at eBay but let's just say some of the prices on the are optimistic! Is the anywhere else I should be looking? There are around 100-150 models that I am looking to swap or trade and I would imagine it would get quite annoying if I kept asking here for each one!!

Use eBay, but filter out the "buy it now" listings - which are usually silly prices that nobody ever pays, and make sure only to look at items that have actually sold, because nobody buys anything with a silly high reserve on it either!

For example:

Preslotta Citadel
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?LH_Co ... 3&_ipg=200

Solid Base Citadel
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?LH_Co ... 0&_ipg=200

fiend factory citadel
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?LH_Co ... 0&_ipg=200

For trading, most gamers and enthusiasts want to go for a straight-forward 1:1 swap, the collectors market distorting values is a bit of an annoyance really. Similarly when selling most advise to start the auction at 99p and let the market find the right price - although there is some risk with a genuine rarity that you might miss out rather than find the right buyer. Also you'll get a better price if sell individually rather than in lots, but don't split box sets, and items that are clearly and correctly described (cataloguing is important!) should do well.
