If they ar enot chaos but are for anarchy?

Not by my understanding. They just don't think the Emperor is all that great. Sure they may be touched by chaos, but by the subtleties of the fluff in RoC a good number of loyal Imperial servants are also the pawns of daemons.

Normal, roided up marines that have been abandoned on a backwater planet for a long time. They could have mutated? They could have just fine bonkers? They could have started turning the locals into slaves? Maybe they pimped some of them too?

They're just fucked up Marines :)

I felt inspired so put Beaky and Catachan bits together and made a Bastard:

I love it! Well, its great. I just coulnt imagine a good idea for the star bastards without it just being Slaanesh style. This whole space barbarian look just seems to fit really well. I was listening to what the guys were saying it should be like, but not able to visualise the look. You have got it down I think.

Thanks Curtis. I had a similar dilemma, but just went with what felt right. I'm going to try to make one of my Bastards a bit of a cyborg, have another on a bike, one with a slave girl and then something else. I'm just fitting them in between other projects. I see it as channeling my 80's post-apocalyptic film nostalgia.

I have been working on my Star Bastards. Here are my ones, heavily influenced by Antipixi's. Same style, same colour scheme-ish. Mine were made using (left to right) GW parts plus Northstar plastics, again the same, a sonversion with putty and finally my own model with some Northstar and GW bits stuck on.

I’m flattered at the reference to my Bastard. These are awesome, Curtis. I’ll have my second done in a week or so.

Antipixi, I did say before that you got "the look". I was struggling to envisage the Star Bastards without them being just chaos warriors. Your Space Barbarian look nailed it. Luckily I got a-hold of some North Star sprues (I did some painting for them, the sprues were a bonus when I delivered the figs!). I got one of each of the Frostgrave sprues, so there are LOADS of bits and parts. I love using plastic kits too, as they are a piece of cake to quickly chop up and convert! SO much fun.

That guy on the left there, what a bastard. As for the guy second from right, he strikes me as a total bastard. I've got a strong feeling the guy left of centre is a bit of a bastard and don't speak to me about the guy on the right, he's a complete bastard. :)

I think the one on the left is wearing the hat ironically. They ransacked some house, and after a frustrating attempt to find any loot, one of them said "the most valuable thing in this dump is this hat". So they took the hat, and he's been wearing it ever since.
