Ok obviously there is nothing to see here yet but I will post my target here and then this thread will be mine for updates, posting pictures, receiving compliment and insults. Everyone who enters starts there own thread in the Painting Challenges forum and that is where they keep us updated.

A week late but hey better late than never. Here is the bulk of the Halfling army. Or at least the Citadel side of things. It will be expanded as I find ranges (both old and new) that fit with it.

Woah, that's a big collection of cute little guys
My favourite background noise/pictures when painting is a great little cartoon called adventure time.
This episode in particular could might help with halfling battle strategisings

found those wolves btw, i'll take a pic in a min or two so you can check they're the right ones

Thanks lads - apart from defending their homeland against hordes of goblins and orcs they have managed to find them selves in a spot of bother with a bunch of Fimir from the bogs of Connaght and for some reason challenged them to a battle :)

I'll give that cartoon a go then Aiteal. Anything to help the painting.

There is something special, about halflings gathering on mass to battle. I have tried to collect some halflings, but nothing to the extent of yours. Well done on collecting these minis. I look forward to seeing them painted.

Thanks G2 - this started off just collecting the Lord of the Rings Hobbits, then I got a bunch of the prelslottas and now it is an almost complete collection of Halflings & Gnomes from the 80's with a few extras thrown in.

@ Fimm - of course Gollum has to be there, best scout in the army  Now just waiting for the nice friendly wizard that you have for me.

Cripes! I can't believe how fast you have got this many together.

No Marauder ones?

There are a couple of Marauder ones in there, stuffing their faces in the back rows. I had 3 bits of luck getting them together; a great ebay haul, Kev from stunties.com and Padre finding Harbul all in the space of a couple of weeks.

True dat! I want to like them but can't. I have let full collections of Orcs and Goblins pass through my hands but there is just something 'off' about them. Having said that I like the Chaos Dwarves and have to give the regular Dwarves a go sometime

Been a while since I did anything with this it seems but I have been busy gathering support troops and the like. Everything is cleaned up (although I keep finding feckin mold lines), undercoated and stuck to pennies or slotta bases. I even started painting some of them :) mainly thanks to 2 things - the scenario that myself and the other Irish lads are hosting at Knavecon and Whiskey Priests How to do Oldhammer thread

Without further ado here are some WIP shots - criticism and praise welcome.

Cool project! You can never have enough halflings.

Really looking forward to seeing more.

Looking good John. The one on the far right is a big lad isn't he ;)

Right now they have a very Jaeger feel with all the grey on their uniforms.

Very impressive. It warms my snotling collector's heart. You can never have enough diminitive critters on the table!

I have a gaming question. You put them on round bases - is it because you want to use them with War of the Rings (Ring? Rings?)?

Glad you like them Luikki. I've put them on round bases so they can be used in skirmish games or on movement trays for mass combat.
